Costa Rica

It’s true. There is truly a destination that has it all, and we are determined to make it a trip of a lifetime for you. Costa Rica – or  "rich coast" has earned its name and sits on the intersection of many trends: surfing, farm-to-table restaurants, and sustainable tourism. But in the most authentic manner. One of the world's most biodiverse countries, with half a million species – from insects to the giant anteaters – this is nature lover’s dream come true. We’ve created a plan that is quick enough for you to get a sense of the country. This can be expanded to several weeks if you’d like. Rainforest hikes, high-altitude trails, white-water rapids and world-class surfing: Costa Rica offers a dizzying cache of outdoor adventures in every shape and size. National parks allow visitors to get a glimpse of rainforests and volcanoes offer otherworldly vistas. Don’t worry if you can’t decide. We’re here to help.

Day 1

Arrive at the Costa Rican capital of San Jose and explore the city taking time to explore the top sights such as the Central Market and the National Theatre. The country is known for its natural bounty, so you can choose to hit the market and sights or just take in the scenes – either way, it will be a great choice.

Day 2

Water babies will love this day. Head to the country’s Pacific Coast and board a luxury catamaran for a day trip from San Jose to the beautiful Tortuga Island, home to white-sand beaches and warm shallows that are just perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

Day 3

Reserve the day for the Arenal Volcano National Park. From the blue ocean arrive in the thick green forested environs, where you can experience the natural hot springs that surround the soaring peak of Arenal Volcano. We keep half a day to explore the region ziplining atop trees to take in views from a different angle.

Day 4

The adventure only becomes a notch higher on this day. We go down the Sarapiqui River — from Hacienda to Chilamate for 12 kilometres. It goes without saying that all safety measures are taken and the activity is done only with experts.

Day 5

It’s back to the airport for your flight home. Should you have more time, we have excellent recommendations to shop and eat at local restaurants.
